The merry go round spins dazzling colours for our grey souls - and makes us innocents once more. The work responds to the strong colours and childish innocence of the Merry-go-round as a metaphor for lost childhood, flattening the image into a cartoon, dazzled by the spectacle and invading the grey boredom of adult life with it's rejuvenating energy. The viewer is invited into the colourful naïvité of the spectacle, to refresh and rejuvenate in the image.

The work is my personal response to a subject, captured by camera and leading to a transformation supported by mood, colour, shape and words to become a metaphor for an impression, a thought, a feeling. Using the camera as a scalpel I extract a meaningful image from the mess and noise around us and interpret a response using a visual, graphic approach through feelings and associations.
