This painting was based on my memory of the seascape in Taiwan. My grandparents had a shop selling fishing supplies and they often take me for a boat tour whenever they were not busy. I fell in love with lighthouses right the way, particularly the one with red cupola. Lighthouse is not only servers as a symbol of protection but a guide for fishermen. More, it is a guide and a source of light in the dark. This minimalist approach to seascape is my personal interpretation of the power of the nature. A lighthouse takes high ocean wave, thunder, rain and sun. It stands by itself silently yet serving the community and sea crew. It is like our lives, isn't it? Sometimes we need to endure the roughness in life alone even when it seems hopeless. Sometimes, the ocean was calm and the sun was smiling at us. I chose to pain the lighthouse in the minimalism manner to showcase the power of the wave. The thunder added the extra spice to the painting. The entire painting was done with only watercolor and the thunder was done with an ink pen. Hope this piece of art work brings you courage, peace and enlightenment in life.

I am a self taught artist. Both photography and painting. I enjoy a variety of styles and medium. I love abstract, architectural, landscape and wildlife photography. I work as an architectural photographer. My wildlife photographs had been published on Take Ten Caledon magazine on 2015 Special Edition in tribute to 2015 Pam Am Games. Recently, I received semi-honorable for my abstract photography from Art Olympic Open Art Competition in Japan. In terms of painting, it was my honor to receive my first architectural sketch and Christmas Card design commission work from an architect from Barrie, Ontario in 2019. Ever since, I have been painting everyday. My painting is very a fusion of multiculturalism particularly indigenous art. Raised in the farm and lived in Mount Andes at younger age really shape and form my art and how I perceive the world. You will find my signature as T. Bird in some of the paintings. It was given by one of my native friend. That stands for Thunderbird. It is a supernatural bird that protects humans from evil spirits. I would like to share my personal world with you via artwork. Hope my artworks bring joy, peace and harmony to you.
