In "Monstrea: 305", artist Ty Wong channels his love for the vibrant South Florida lifestyle and more specifically his time living in the artist enclave of Coconut Grove, FL. An artist community where the bungalow homes were not only painted vibrant tropical colors of turquoise and magenta, but also with facades filled with paintings. A formative period in the artist life resulting in many of his works featuring vibrant color. The painting's subject, the monstera plant, is executed in near photorealism, although with intentionally heightened vibrancy. Contrasting against the realistically rendered foreground leaves are delicately rendered, semi-translucent gloss medium silhouetted plant forms-- resulting in an almost translucent like glow enhancing the painting's striking magenta, orange, and green color palette. This is an original, one-of-a-kind painting on 1.5" thick gallery wrapped canvas executed in acrylic with various layers of glazing and varnished for dirt and light fading protection. Signed artist signature appears on front and back with accompany certificate of authenticity. The painting is also wired, ready to hang and features vibrant magenta sides.
