The paintings with flower motives are cheerful, life-affirming, colorful, full of hope. They catch the light of a moment, they create a confident, optimistic atmosphere. For me a garden is more than just a garden. For me it is an archetypal image of the sky, in which the colors become brighter and purer and the feelings intensify. The garden as a distant memory of the paradise. This is a painting of a magnolia tree with white pink flowers. The painting is done in an impressionistic style with loose brushstrokes. I used soft and gentle colors to create a peaceful and serene mood. The tree has a twisted trunk and branches that spread out in all directions, creating a sense of movement and organic shape. The flowers are in clusters and are a mix of pink and white, creating a sense of delicacy and freshness. The background is a light blue with some white areas, creating a sense of space and light. The painting evokes a feeling of calmness and harmony, as well as the beauty of nature.

Lightfull lightness is the key element of Elena Starostina paintings. Either garden flowers, city views and roofs or landscapes, gently brushstrokes evoke their timeless life-affirming tension and reduced color settings give an abstracted hint to reality, leaving room for the viewer to dream along in an flourishing impressionistic style, including dusky moods. Classical education, more applied, than academic, leads to casual nude paintings. Atmosphere of buildings is deepend with empathy for history by linking sentences and sources. Sensibility expresses in these paintings, which was experienced outdoor, thus they are artful, but not artificial. Dr. Phil. Dirk Tölke, art historian
