About The Artwork
This is inspired by Sam Bankman Fried, the crypto billionaire who may or may not have lost all his? billions. After watching the media furore on 'You Tube' I unconsciously depicted him here in this painting. I'm a firm believer in painting what 'you know'. What I do know is that I have been watching hours of 'You Tube' It will therefore undoubtedly come out in ones painting, eventually. This is my first pop culture/celebrity painting. And as long as I will continue to watch 'You Tube' I'm sure there will be many more to come. This painting has some thick textual elements, I like to layer the paint, and let the painting evolve as I apply the paint. I'm enjoying the 'border' motif in my latest works, evoking a portal/ screen into the painting.
