The work was inspired by the movie of famous Spanish filmmaker Luis Bunuel - "That Obscure Object of Desire". One of the scenes from the film, where the main character is interacting tête-à-tête with her worshiper was transformed into colorful pop-art. The painting belongs to the series of "Women Film Icons in Interior Design" by George Hertz. It aims to immortalize stills from iconic films and give an opportunity to viewer to once again take pleasure from the motion picture masterpiece, and women who make them unforgettable. As a rule, in each of these pop-art frames there is a male spectator present, but only women are visible. This underlines women's dual position as both subjects and objects within each painted scene.
