Somer based her work on a rare mixed technique that combines oil or acrylic painting on canvas and pile und pileless carpets, in which the same canvas acts as a weft thread and a base. Sometimes inclusions of carpets are inscribed in the color of the canvas, and sometimes contrast with it. m. Ornaments on carpet, silk and other types of textiles had a sacred meaning - as a rule, these were protective talismans and well-wishes for good luck, fertility and happiness. The concept of Somer's works is to study, apply and revive the iconic symbols of ornament in conceptual art, which makes it possible to once again look at the iconic symbols from a new angle and determine the contribution of decorative and applied art to the world artistic heritage. The works are made in the combination of painting techniques and weaving, it must be said that this is an innovation in the field of interspecific integration of arts -technically innovative painting, where canvas is the basis for both painting and carpet. Тhanks to her knowledge in the field of restoration of works of art, the author has achieved a combination of such a synthesis.
