The painting features a bold, abstract composition with a dominant figure at its center. The figure is faceless, with a gender-neutral, simplified form, conveying a sense of universality. The body is depicted in mid-stride, with legs and arms outstretched, evoking a sense of movement and forward momentum. The color palette is vibrant and contrasting, with a mix of cool blues and warm oranges, yellows, and reds. The background is a swirling blend of these colors, creating a dynamic, abstract landscape. The figure is rendered in a more subdued, monochromatic scheme, which creates a sense of depth and dimensionality. The artist's use of mixed media is evident in the varied textures and materials incorporated into the piece. The figure appears to be collaged or layered onto the canvas, with visible edges and ridges that add a tactile quality to the work. The background, on the other hand, is smooth and fluid, with expressive brushstrokes and drips that convey a sense of spontaneity and energy. Overall, "Determination" is a powerful and uplifting piece that captures the human spirit's capacity for resilience and perseverance. The artist's use of color, texture, and composition creates a dynamic, engaging work that draws the viewer in and invites reflection. More than 80% of the world population survives daily on a low income. But they still wake up every day with the determination to keep living, working hard and hoping that things will get better. This determination keeps them going.

Life and death are two sides of a coin, sombre yet beautiful. Bassey Bassey Eshiet (Basi Basi), is a ceramist by profession. He was born in Calabar, in the State of Cross River, he lives in and practice art in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State in Southern Nigeria. He is also a visual artist who loves exploring different media in art. One of such media is the digital media. He believes that art should be used in awakening beautiful emotions in humans as life is fleeting and times are difficult. As a visual artist he is deeply inspired by the rich heritage of Nigerian and African culture. He is thrilled to introduce himself and his work to you. His artistry is like the vibrant colours of the African sunset, backed up with the soothing whispers of ancestral wisdom, woven into the very fabric of his DNA. His artistic expression, echoing the rhythmic heartbeat of Nigeria, is a harmonious fusion of vivid colors, intricate symbolism, and linear expressionism. This captivating visual narrative celebrates the resilience and spirit of Nigerian men, women and children, much like the massive stem of the ancient Baobab tree that has withstood the test of time. The tactile nature of his work, akin to the gentle caress of the Harmattan wind, reflects the intricate patterns and lines found in traditional nsibidi writing. Each layer of paint, like the stories passed down through generations, holds an emotional depth that reveals tales of strength and hope. His art is a rich tapestry of emotions, with each brushstroke resonating like the soothing rhythms of a talking drum, guiding you through a sensory journey that transcends the boundaries of conventional artistic expression. Imagine the sensation of running your fingers across the canvas, as if traversing the bustling, vibrant markets of Lagos, feeling the rhythm of each line layer, much like the ridges and valleys of Nigeria's diverse landscape. Through this tactile exploration, you'll uncover a world of intricate symbolism, reminiscent of the ancient Nsibidi script, weaving stories of tradition and contemporary life. He humbly encourages you to experience the beauty and depth of his art. Immerse yourself in the soul-stirring essence of his work, and join him in celebrating the transformative power of African art. With warm regards and gratitude, Bassey Eshiet.
