About The Artwork
This is a crossover piece from a functional pottery vase to an abstract sculpture. I made the bottom half on a potters wheel. Then I used jute ropes to create patterns on it and built the dramatic top half using the age old technique of coiling with clay, thereby transforming a simple vase to a sculpture with its own identity. This is the second piece of my Temple series of four pieces which are all listed on this website.
