About The Artwork
I began painting using stencils in 2010/2011 after meeting Paulo Whitaker, a Brazilian contemporary artist. I had visited the Nara Roesler Gallery in São Paulo in 2008 for the first time...Paulo Whitaker was having a solo show there, his works impacted me at first with rejection added to a feeling of "How could he ? but he's really smart, really good" Two years later I began using stencils, firstly, using imagery from portraits, skulls, letter types and eventually, my own circles, semi circles, rectangles and squares. This painting is one of my first stenciled paintings in oil paint (only).
