I used watercolour as a base for the background and flowers and Posca paint pens to achieve the intricate designs over the top. The background fades gently from pale baby blue to incorporate a wash of pale green further down the piece. I love the combination of watercolour paint with pen detail on top and am currently compiling a series of circular flower paintings - watch this space! I adore the simplicity of circles and the way they represent so many wonderful things in nature. This piece was painted on 200gsm acid free mixed media paper, size 11.69" x 16.54". I have left a white border around the edge measuring approx 0.71 of an inch all the way round.
