About The Artwork

This work was inspired by Picasso's "Blue Period" I decided to paint this in various shades of red to reflect my current personal mindset and status. Again, inspired by Picasso's use of negative space, I have intertwined all the objects within the painting to connect with each of it's adjacents. Every part of the available surface is used to create an overall concept. As such, this painting can be hung in all 4 positions, with each showing a different perspective and possible interpretation. From one viewpoint, the outer corona of an eclipsed Sun, with a smirking Picasso lighting his cigarette (or igniting the Sun), can give the viewer the potential option of considering this work to reflect the current Covid19 pandemic. Initially, I chose to underpaint with acrylic and add oil later for detail, however, due to the continual changes and additions, I decided to stick with acrylic throughout. This piece was painted on hardboard and inserted into an exhibition styled floating frame.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

A multi-disciplinary artist, mainly taking inspiration by the old masters (Caravaggio in particular) but also post Impressionism, Orbic Cubism, Statement and Punk Art, I'm particularly drawn to composition, materials and colours and aim to add my conceptual twist. Analysing the abstract elements within and around figurative subjects and the "negative" spacings on the canvas. Mainly using media such as oil and acrylic, I'm also experimenting with discarded materials such as glass and tin to create large scale sculptures to convey a juxtaposition of these materials within mainstream societal mindset. I am hoping to exhibit my recent collection of artwork once the Covid19 restrictions have been lifted and look forward to developing new concepts.
