About The Artwork

Flamingos have always been interesting to me. I remember taking my granddaughter to the Washington National Zoo and as we walked by the Flamingos we heard a loud screech. They scared us but then we laughed at their noise. I love their colors and majestic appearance. I often paint them as bright pinks or oranges. I work in acrylic and try to paint loosly but accurately when it comes to the subject. This is painted on a Canvas.

Carol A. Lane 400 Seasage Drive #804 Delray Beach, FL 33483 703-362-9217 www.carollaneart.com 1. I grew up in Newport, RI and have lived in Old Town Alexandra, Pawleys Island, SC and currently reside in Delray Beach, FL. 2. Each of these places was on a body of water, which is where I am happiest. Educated at the prestigious Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA, my artistic journey has been deeply influenced by my coastal surroundings. 3. I continue to take lessons at the Boca Raton Museum Art School and The Armory in West Palm Beach. 4. I retired from the Federal Government, training Federal workers about using Pcs and all the Microsoft Products. I have been able to pursue my love of art for the past 16 years. 5. Specializing in bright and playful florals, whimsical birds, lively fish, and captivating beach scenes, my artwork reflects my love of nature and coastal lifestyle. 6. My paintings evoke a sense of joy and serenity, capturing the essence of coastal living with brushstrokes. I tell stories through my art and my creations adorn many of my friends’ homes and gallery shows (i.e. Palm Beach Watercolor Society, starting May 2024 ). 7. My family members were both artistic and musical. My mom sang with the Boston Pop Orchestra. My aunt and brother were/are watercolorists and were/are both artistic and musical. My mom sang with the Boston Pop Orchestra. My father was a concert pianist and my 2 siblings, and I took music lessons as well as art growing up. 8. I currently have a studio at Zero Empty Spaces in Boca Raton at the Boca Raton Innovation Campus along with 16 other artists. I love being in a space with other artists as we share ideas, contemplate each other’s work, and give suggestions if asked. This has been a rewarding experience, but I am confident enough now to work in a place that has a flow of patrons so that my work is prominently displayed.
