As this series continues I started thinking about queer rights and so there is a sub series centered around the idea of forming a gay religion in order to protect rights. Baptism and Prophet are 2 that are in that group. The existing idea of people outside or inside the pool have distorted views of each other is also at play in this painting.

born in Palm Springs, CA (1960) and raised in San Diego, I have always had a California esthetic. I moved back east to get my BFA from VCU and my MFA from Rutgers at Rutgers. While in grad school my work was focused on queer life, particularly in the time of AIDS. This current work leans more heavily on subtle metaphor while tackling serious issues. Of course,the viewer always brings their own meanings to the work, which is why I love Art.
