VIEW IN MY ROOM
I paint a sort of ecosystem where artifacts and natural objects are mingled on the canvas. A mannequin as a representation of something real and a real thing itself seems to blur the distinction between reality and fantasy. Are artificial objects and natural ones distinctive in the scenes from postmodern life? Mannequins might habour in the real world as if they were a biological species and communicate with people by means of products. The mannequins I have painted would provide insight of impossibility of communication with their vestigial sensory organs. On the other hand, they could open up the possibility to communicate beyond sensory organs, or a transcendent communion surpassing spoken words. To me, mannequins are the object of undecidability.(by Jinho Kee) Jin-Ho, Kee has held 16 solo exhibitions and attained several Public Contests.
