About The Artwork

ORIGINAL Painting by Lidia Kuneca Title: The Cycle of Life Size, Medium: 40x30cm acrylic on cardboard Style: surrealism Description: The painting is a vision of the real world with living, death and unborn representing the repetition of life. The natural world from microscopic (frame of plant cells) to different universe of small, big, bigger(it is the human mind) and infinity(the repetition). Flowers and bugs are the interference of life that complete each other. Without this contrast, life couldn't see it's course.(life- death-born).

Lidia Kuneca is a contemporary painter. She showed a passion and a skill for painting in the expressionist manner from an early age through her childhood and adolescence. From the age of 11 she received an artistic education in her hometown Art highschool and later at the University of Arts and Design in Cluj-Napoca where she recieved a grant for 5 months at the University of Fine Arts in Cuenca, Spain. Lidia paints mostly from imagination or memory. Her work describes the inner voice of the subconscious mind, inspired by the beauty of imaginary things, the mystery of nature and social experiences. She has a positive and colorful vision. Lidia especially admires David Hockney, in elements such as his smooth flat and brilliant color. Marc Chagall for his quirky motifs, Olafur Eliasson for sculptures and large-scale installations that enhance the viewer's experience.
