About The Artwork
A local doctor, and his wife, Dr. and Mrs. Outen, farm, buy, sell, and trade, Black Angus cows. One of their cows has become a domestic pet, named "Ole Yeller." At their request, "Ole Yeller" is a commissioned, pop art\impressionism, oil on canvas, piece. Its background was done with a palette knife, while the subject was completed with a brush. The purpose of the palette knife is to give a vague appearance of the trees, sky, grass, and ground, while giving a vivid appearance of the main subject (cow), using a brush. The over-all affect compliments each other. This was a, thoroughly, enjoyable piece to paint! The name "Ole Yeller", for a cow, added spice to my enjoyment, being that Ole Yeller was a dog!
