The year 2010 marked a pivotal turning point in my creative development, the human figure, which had always been the primary subject matter of my paintings merged with the image of the pig, and this hybrids became the focal point of all my work for two years. After a major solo exhibition, I abandoned this topic and a few years later pick it up again; this painting is the last one of the series. The painting is based on an image of a resting pig and a wrestling man, as if they have found the way to finally become to separate beings again. The human figure is depicted in motion while the pig is asleep, marking the end of the "Pig Tales" series.

Since my earliest years as a painter I have devoted passion for both human figure and the medium of painting . I have explored different approaches to human representation, specially , female figures , that sometimes developed into paintings that were autobiographical reflections. I have passed along different artistic currents but Ive mostly been influenced by Antonio Saura, Francis Bacon and Willem de Kooning depiction of women.
Im currently working on a series of large scale paintings , looking for a more courageous approach to the theme of eroticism and sexuality, addressing the figure and human flesh and celebrating, at the same time, painting itself as an essentially sensual and physical process. Bodies are distorted and stretched, couples are merged and melt into a single form that makes it hard to tell where one started and the other ended.
The introduction of urgently copulating couples , body parts, depictions of phallic symbols and genitalia, was the result of a year of intensive drawing and the subsequent simplification of the forms which leaves the background and spaces clean, increasing the level of contrast.
My paintings are also about looking, they take into account the gaze of the observer; they explore looking as a form of voyeurism, transgression and violation, and the mutual perversion this implies. Sex is the most obvious subject matter , but also a tragic view of life and an ironic look on the hypocrisy of the society regarding this topic, which provides a perfect subject for my explorations on the narrative of painting across the satire and the drama.
