About The Artwork
Demonstration of the pluralism of identity. Whether it be a rose, a lily, a chrysanthemum or a sunflower: all hold a certain beauty. The concept of differentiated personalities through cultures is explored, e.g the flower of my home province of Quebec: the fleur de Lys (lilies.) The onlooker might also notice the dark background, hinting that youth doesn’t necessarily need sun to grow. Unlike flowers, growth of identity doesn’t rely on any exterior factor but our experiences.
