The present artwork is my rendition of the image of the Hindu Mythological God, Kaala Bhairava, the most fearsome form of Lord Shiva. Kaala Bhairava is always seen with a dog in the background. Though Kaala Bhairava is known to be the Dark and Frightful avatar of Shiva, yet he is believed to be the Lord who protects his devotees from external enemies; as also from internal enemies such as greed, lust, anger and all other negative emotions. The Hindus worship him as the Lord of Creation, Preservation and Destruction. Bhairava, thus, is believed to be the Ultimate Godhead, combines all of these forces of the Universe. To depict the "Terrible" and "Fearsome" aspect of Kaala Bhairava, I have taken inspiration and followed the style of the famous painter Jean Michel Basquiat. His primitive painting style is the best-suited style to bring out the Hindu Mythological image of Kaala Bhairava. Blended with my imagination and my own individual interpretation of the myth and the primitive painting style of Jean Michel Basquiat, Man Mounted on a Dog, is my original artwork that uses dual colour effect and circular lines to give expression to my thoughts.
