About The Artwork
A cloth canvas that is able to be hung. This painting represents a mother's role of comforting her children in times of uncertainty. The main inspiration was the dynamic of the black family in that even when there are no men present, a mother will always make sure to care for her children. I chose this subject because I feel there is a disconnect in today's society due to lack of guidance and support from black mothers.
