About The Artwork

This artwork is a part of my series called “Places of power” - many places in the world irradiate power and very strong energy. During my nomadic life I was lucky enough to visit a few of them. This artwork called *A pura*, it’s a Balinese Hindu temple.

I’m Masha, a Kazakh national, living in Bali - the Island of Gods. I’m today a happy mother of a little boy Rocco. I take my inspiration from what I call “places of power”. Kazakhstan is my home country with its never-ending steps and valleys. Cambodia was my Kingdom of Wonders with its Angkor Wat temple and Buddhist pagodas everywhere for 10 years, and then Bali for the last 3 years with its Hindu temples at every house and street corner. Producing my artwork is not to fulfill a need. It is an endeavor that allows me to decompress from daily life. It’s a trance and a complete disconnection from reality. I am a self-made artist without any formal training; I work with pure and unbounded inspiration. You may notice that I don’t observe any traditions, codes, or boundaries. I have 2 styles: my black, silver, and gold style which is very precise, fine & semi-abstract, and my acrylic paintings which are abstract and filled with colors. I start my artwork with no theme or picture in my mind, circle after circle connecting the image. I would rather not name my works but provide the reading guides. I want to leave a space for people to connect the patterns, to interact with my works, to stimulate the imagination. Every piece of my artwork conveys a message. What do you see?
