About The Artwork
The Wave/ Change is an original creativity, made with origami boat of recycled paper, coming from a pub in Milan where I work as a waitress. The work is based on the Hokusai Great Wave of Kanagawa, that helped me with his circular dynamism to represent my idea of change. A personal moment of shock and the consequent need to change, city-home-work-people-habits-identity, becomes the chance to express in a universal way feelings and emotions that accompany the change, outside of oneself and within oneself. Changing is a slow path, made of many steps. It is made up of things that happen or not, people who meet, feelings, thoughts, fears and courage. And everything is like clay, it changes shape under the hands of time that passes. Change is full of energy and power, it is like a morning that rises slowly and, together, like a hurricane that has its center in the heart.

I am Elisa Lonetti and i'm the mind and hands of I’M - Italian Mosaic, my artistic mosaic studio. I attended the Mosaic School of Spilimbergo, where I received very high technical and artistic skills. That choice, started as an adventure has become more and more aware day by day so that “attempt” has taken shape of a great passion. I live and work in Milan, where every day I continue my own research and the technical and stylistic experimentation following the tradition: my production has its roots in the history of the Made in Italy high quality handicraft and of the Italian culture. The mosaic is a language for me and is the filter to look at reality. From flooring and cladding, to reproductions of classical art and modern conception of original furnishings, to artistic and personal compositions: everything I do is always characterized by technical skill, refined sensibility and passion. My purpose is to bring back the art of mosaic from the baggage of ancient history and to make it up-to-date and modern.
