About The Artwork
I am from Texas, the son of a wildcat oil man. The idea that you could have a six-pack of oil wells that you might pick up at the giant Texas Store is appealing to me. This has a bank of black lights in its base and the inside of the oil derricks are painted neon yellow, orange and pink - it glows like crazy in lower light areas. This also has a connection to my beloved University of Texas, in that the Santa Rita #1 oil well was discovered long ago and the funds from the well are the reason UT has the largest endowment of any public university - the PUP fund.
