About The Artwork

Inspired by a Native American legend of a barren women who who cried into a mussel shell, out of which was born a girl child. It is a creation story about the birth of the Feminine Principle in the world. I hope viewers will see this as a personal and precious keepsake, the mussel shell created to suggest the sculptor's cupped hands. Hand-carved first in wax, then cast into bronze allows the viewer to pick it up and place it where they choose. The gilded interior renders it a personal and precious keepsake, while the teal blue exterior carries the energy of trustworthiness and reliability, while enhancing spiritual awareness.
