About The Artwork
This artwork is a contemporary recreation of the enigmatic Phaistos Disc, an artifact from the Minoan civilization. Crafted from solid clay, the disc is painted with golden acrylic paints, giving it a shine that evokes the cultural richness of ancient Crete. The piece is part of an exclusive series of seven discs, each numbered and unique. The first disc is currently located in Crete, the origin of the original artifact. Each disc features an additional symbol, absent from the original, suggesting new interpretations and mysteries to be uncovered. The process of working with the clay brings me closer to an unrevealed ancient truth. I used meticulously recreated stamps, similar to those that might have been used by the ancient Minoans, guided by an intuition that indicates where they might be hidden. My inspiration comes from the universe, reflecting the connection between man, earth, and cosmos. This artwork is not only a homage to the past but also an invitation to explore the secrets and messages it still holds.
