www.oliviapegoraro.com Engraver, freelance. My works since 1992 have been exhibited in many Italian cities and abroad and acquired from museums, public and private collections in: Sofia, Madrid, Chamalieres, Porto, Douro, Bitola, Tarragona, Valencia, Bucharest, Paris, Cologne, Nassau , Bonn, Diez, Weissenthurm, Kobern-Gondorf, Hunibach, Providencia-Santiago de Chile, Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Guanlan-Shenzen, Tokyo, Nagasaki, Amsterdam,Yokohama, Utrecht. Soon I will also exhibit in New York. I was born in 1975 and grew up in Piovene Rocchette, a small town in the province of Vicenza, in Veneto-Italy, known for the Rossi wool mill, in a family where artistic stimuli were not lacking. At the age of 11, during a vacation in Florence, I was enchanted by Michelangelo's David and I realized that art would always be part of my life. In my artistic training I was particularly influenced by Renaissance drawing and Expressionism and when, at 21, in the 3rd year of the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, I met engraving, I fell in love with it and I realized that it would be it was my path, my job. So, even if I continue to paint, the engraving on zinc and methacrylate and the subsequent printing on paper have become my life. At the age of 25, after finishing the Academy of Fine Arts and dedicating my thesis to engraving techniques, I specialized in engraving and printing at the Foundation, Gallery and International School “The Bisonte of Firenze, under the guidance of Rodolfo Ceccotti, where I specialized I was able to work with many artists from all over the world and where I received a scholarship in the second year of the course. Since 1996 I have engraved and printed on my own over 330 matrices of wood, linoleum, copper, zinc and methacrylate. I prefer traditional techniques, such as: etching, drypoint, open etching and soft varnish, although I have experimented with many techniques, including those of H. Goetz during a short specialization at the Atelier Aperto in Venice in 1999. In 1992, at 17year, I started exhibiting my artworks Since 2008 I have been collaborating with the collector Antonio L. Rossetto and since 2013 I have been part of the National Association of Contemporary Engravers which he founded. I was a member until the closure of the Veneto Engravers Association directed by the historian Giorgio Trentin and of the Cultural Association and Gallery "Il Quadrato" of Chieri (TO) directed by Anna V. Rosso. More information on: www.oliviapegoraro.
