Fine Art Gicleé print using pigmented inks on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag® Ultra Smooth paper 305 g/m², 100% cotton. Framed with methacrylate and black wooden frame. Ready to hang. Original signature on the back. This is an urban character that we could find in any big city in any country. This is why this work is a universal portrait of human frailty, of the deepest a human being could end. This man is portrayed as a byproduct of modern society. The idea of the box is also a metaphor for this character’s own dementia and confinement. This artwork serves to reflect on the human condition and the survival in a hostile world as well. It’s intended to make the viewer feel empathy towards this poor insane old man.

I'm a Peruvian artist based in Malaga, Spain. When my body of work is appreciated as a whole, it is possible to realize that despite the different topics covered and the different techniques and media used (oils, charcoal, graphite, pastel chalks, ink, acrylics) there is a common factor that is realistic representation of images. This being quite obvious in my early works of social realism, the realist treatment in surrealist paintings as well as in mythical-symbolic works becomes an essential tool to help these subjects get out of an abstract world and thus gain legitimation as something real that exists. On the other hand, the image of the woman has a symbolic meaning. She is the link between the conscious world and the inner world of the unconscious both in surrealist works and in portraits immersed in darkness. The latter, like the other portraits in general, are projections in which archetypal ideas of psychic entities are released, that is, they are symbolic portraits.
