clear blue September sky, my favorite jug and the gorgeous chickory growing on the verges, perfect inspiration A linocut reduction means that I start by cutting away what I want to be white areas, I then roll up in the first color and all prints in the short edition of 10 prints, go through the press, for each print I have to ink up the plate again, I then cut away what I want to remain in that color, print all the prints and so on and on until the last color, all the time cutting away means I am left with the bare bones, which is why linocut reductions are also known as "lost plate". This print is rolled up very freehand, so the prints can vary a bit, I hope you will appreciate this as part of the creative process and why original prints are called original prints, each print rolled up in each color by me. Blue sky.... is printed in an edition of 10 prints, and I sign, title and number each print, please note you might not receive the number in the photo. The heavy weight warm white printmaking paper measures 50 cm x 40 cm (20" x 16") and the actual printed area measures 40 cm x 30 cm (16" x 12") I ship with many years experience in packing my art so it arrives safely Thanks for looking and welcome back, Mariann

Almost 20 years a full time printmaker and I am as much in love as the day I pulled my first print! My presses have moved with me, from Borneo to Singapore, from Singapore to Spain, and now on to Denmark, where I have set up my studio and gallery. I am self taught, a book, a way to thick copper plate and a gallon drum of nitric acid, making every mistake you could, and learning, learning as I went along. I started with etchings and added linocut when we moved to Singapore. Here I also taught printmaking at Singapore Tyler Print Institue, picking up and learning from the master printmakers there. I never want to be too "old" to learn, to challenge myself, to do better! My inspiration comes from a variety of sources, I have no single line of work, but prefer to make images as they come into my head, through books, I love to read, through radio, music and a huge part, from my daily dogwalks, that not only provide inspiration from nature but also moments of contemplation that results in many of my prints! All my prints are printed on best quality printmaking papers (favorites are Magnani, Fabriano, and Hahnemuelhe) with Charbonnel etching inks.
