Limited edition of 8 This piece is part of my project „Objectify Me“ an ongoing project fueled by the frustration I often feel from the disproportionate value being placed on being aesthetically pleasing above all other attributes. We are conditioned from an early age that what’s most important about us is the way we look and the way our body feels in someone else’s hands. What also contributed was a general fatigue from the hypocrisy of the simultaneous sexualization and censorship of female body parts.. I’m trying to take a direct approach, sometimes humorous, sometimes serious to break down my own internalized sexism and also to break down boundaries on how female artists are allowed to express themselves. The female body is still censored so much when it doesn’t directly serve the male gaze. A giant boob on my head is funny but it also expresses how empty objectification can make me feel. C-Type print with white border, signed and numbered on accompanying label. Comes with letter of authenticity signed and numbered on back. Ready to ship in 2 weeks.

SLEEK Magazine: "Multi-disciplinary artist Annique Delphine is making serious waves in her hometown of Berlin at the moment. Her recent solo show “Reclaim the Feminine” featuring her ongoing series “Objectify Me” was a huge hit – the humorous yet serious approach to questioning the boundaries female artists must break through to express themselves well received by her audience. Delphine’s work promotes female sexuality and aims to avert from the male gaze, something that she states is “always intuitive rather than premeditated” ----------------- Bullett Magazine: "Annique Delphine flips the male gaze on its head. With absurdist images and surrealist GIFs, the Berlin-based artist explores sexuality and female objectification using disembodied breasts. After working as a model in her youth, she decided to reclaim her identity, and found strength behind the lens. Since then, she’s crafted hyper-feminist imagery that challenges traditional notions of what it means to be a femme. Delphine questions the never-ending fetishization of the female body, taking ordinary images and giving them a kinky edge. Through her milk-covered roses (which are actually drenched in varnish) and her boob-filled dessert spreads, she reclaims femininity in her own pink-hued way." --------------- Annique Delphine is a multimedia artist and feminist. Her work includes photography, video, installation and performance. Delphine’s work has been exhibited worldwide in cities including Berlin, New York, London and Los Angeles. Her Film „PLETHORA“ won Best Experimental Film at both the Toronto Arthouse Filmfestival and the Verona International Film Festival. She has held workshops on overcoming body issues and the censorship of the feminine body in Los Angeles and Berlin. Often using her work as a way to overcome her own traumas, she believes in art as a way to promote personal and collective healing. Delphine’s work focuses on the politicization and censorship of the body, feminine symbolism, sexuality, our relationship with nature and our obsession with social media and self image.
