Image size 16x20 Paper size 20x14 The story of the horse has a long legacy in art, mythology, war, literature and more. These images poetically express the qualities a horse embodies; wildness, freedom, wisdom, power, connection, spirituality, beauty and honor the memory of the unique mark horses have made on the hearts and lives of humans. My personal 12 year long relationship with a rescued racehorse has led me into the unique world of the horse. The horse lives in a highly intuitive world of the senses, a world we don't often access. To enter their world it is best to be calm , centered and free of tension. The images are visual poetic offerings honoring the beauty and uniqueness of the horse. I am grateful for the opportunity to honor this remarkable creature through my art. A portion of the proceeds form this work supports Return to Freedom Wild Horse Sanctuary in Lompoc CA.

BIOGRAPHY TORI GAGNE Tori Gagne was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota , she has a BFA in Fine Art Photography from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Her love of photography began in grade school working with a pinhole camera and developing film in the darkroom in her family home. She was deeply influenced by her mother and brother who were both professional photographers. Caring for her retired off the track thoroughbred over the years has deepened her understanding of horses and led her to devote much of her work to equine subjects. She has a special affinity for wild horse photography and is happiest on a dirt road in the western states seeking herds of wild horses to photograph. She has exhibited her work nationally and internationally. Her images have been described as poetic offerings, powerful and stunning, She has received International awards for her work and has work in private collections nationally and internationally. She currently resides in her hometown of Orono, MN 10% of proceeds from selling her equine work is donated to organizations involved in the protection and education about the plight of the wild horse population in the western US.
