Wood Caribou Painting

I graduated from Concordia University, Montreal with a BFA and post graduate Art Education Diploma. After experiencing Northern Canada while teaching, I continued my education and graduated from Trent University, Peterborough ON, completing an MA in Anthropology specializing in Art History and Indigenous Cultures. My medium is beeswax encaustic which I also teach in private studio workshops and through classes at the Haliburton School of the Arts. I am a recognized instructor with R & F Paints, Kingston, New York. My painting style interweaves photo images, mixed media, plaster forms to create a visual and tactile feast for the senses. The medium allows beautifully luminous layers of rich colours and textures like no other medium I've used. It is also extremely archival and permanent. I have enjoyed numerous solo shows in the Peterborough area including a solo show at the Art Gallery of Peterborough. I also have shown in the US and across Canada. My work was juried into a prestigious show at the Sagamihara Citizen Gallery.
