About The Artwork
Abstracted geometric still life drawing made in 2020, initialed on the back. Gouache and acrylic paint on thick archival paper. Drawing is 50 x 70 cm (19,6 x 27,5 inches). The paper has an unfinished drawing on the back. Original will be shipped in a box from Hamburg, ready to hang with a matt black frame. The frame is made from solid wood and does not include a glass front, frame size: 53 x 73 cm (20.8 x 28.7 inches) thickness 3 cm (1.1 inches).

Working mostly in acrylic paint on canvas, I make minimal compositions with sprinklings of high contrast patterns and color. My process is a repetition of addition and subtraction, pedaling between the abstract and figurative. Inspired by the rigid lines of Agnes Martin and organic forms of Eva Hesse, I also adore fantasy films, surrealism, brutalist architecture and a really smooth gradient. Sometimes I set my paintings in motion; I'm also an illustrator and animator creating works under digital pseudonym We Throw Rocks. Based out of a poorly heated–yet cozy attic studio bordering the icy waters of Northern Europe.
