Translation The painting represents the face of an angel looking down, seeking that which has been. He sees it, through a breach represented by a painting within the painting in which you can catch the glimpse of a face, of which you can only see the nose and the mouth, symbol of what, through the breath, determines the presence of what is alive. This face’s expression is peaceful and wants to almost create a bridge between itself and that which is not yet. However, it intends to “translate” in a mutation of the matter towards a yearning that pushes to the eternal sublimation of the matter/spirit. If one is represented on a metal slab by a monochromatic engraving, the other appears on canvas with lively chromatism to convey the contrast of the worlds of being, on the plane of figurative language.

The Minotaur wasn't that evil, in the end. The Ariadne's spool of thread from which my work unravels starts from the surrealistic and symbolist fascination with Bocklin and Dalì. While unwinding the thread Mondrian's abstract experience and Burri's are also picked up while the geniuses Leonardo and Michelangelo remain the center of the labyrinth.
