About The Artwork

I was born catholic in a greek orthodox environment. My parents are very religious persons and it a duty for me to participate to ceremonies as a child. All these was a very boring situation for me but during the ceremonies I could focus to the religious paintings and symbols that existed in the catholic churches. And that's the idea: to imagine the Symbols of a totally new supposed religion and to match these Symbols to supposed Gods. Of course in this case my background as an art director/graphic designer and my love for the symbols in general, was a big help to invent new symbols. So this is a series of symbols of a religion with many imaginary gods. Each artwork has a monochrome background that highlights the symbol. The symbol is drawn in one stroke with acrylic paint impregnated with a special glue that gives volume to the design and is therefore difficult to capture in a photograph.
