I have long had a love affair with Chinoiserie, Matisse and Frida Kahlo. I like to believe that Frida and Matisse might have had a little dalliance. This painting is from a series which I feel might have adorned the walls of Matisse's glorious provencal salon on the day he invited Frida round for Sunday tea and a bit of a flirt. It is painted in acrylics onto an unframed box canvas with D ring hanging fittings
