The Storm's Tail Feathers Painting

The feeling of true freedom through flight (whether real or dreamed) is unparalleled. This freedom is under constant attack. Not only our physical surroundings but our inner selves seek endlessly to create restrictions, tie and bind. Flight, threads, suspension and restriction are all motifs I keep returning to in my work. It takes great effort to catch the tail feathers of a storm and hang them out to dry while the storm continues to buffet and blind us, so why do we do it? The Storm's Tail Feathers is painted in atelier artist acrylic on quality stretched canvas. (I love the ability of acrylic paint to take distress and abuse, to get truly messy, be opaque or transparent, and to embrace layers.) As you can see this piece has some messy surface texture appropriate for stormy weather. This piece will come pre-strung with rings and cord unless requested otherwise. Signed on the back, and has my signature 'SILVER' on the bottom of the right side panel.
