I became interested in merging an gestural expressive style, with a more minimal, geometric approachThis painting is part of a 3 year series about time. In it I evoke memory, mystery and the enduring self. With change there is still and essence of our self that remains and shines through. With this painting I took an old painting which I scrapped sanded and wiped with turpentine until only and essence of color and form remained and then built up a thin translucency of paint. This startlingly beautiful painting has depth of color and meaning.
