About The Artwork

"I immerse myself in the fascinating world of this unique piece of art, where every detail comes to life with a special kind of magic. The woman walking with her backpack becomes a captivating visual story. The coordinates, painted with a color that glows in the night, add a mysterious and poetic touch to the canvas. These specific points not only position my artwork in a defined space but also invite me to a deeper exploration into the darkness, unveiling secrets only visible when night falls. The folds of the pants, carefully sculpted, breathe life into the movement within the frame. Each crease creates a dynamic effect, as if the person is in constant motion, inviting me to be part of this evolving scene. I discover an artistic experience that goes beyond the static, where the nighttime light reveals secret coordinates and the folds of the pants bring movement to life. My piece sparks imagination and redefines my relationship with art and the observer. I explore this canvas filled with magic and motion waiting to be uncovered in every corner." I made this work for the art event in 2019 "Recorridos Sonoros" in Barcelona. And it was part of a joint installation with a data artist "Alicia Champlin". It was exhibited in a former convent in the subway chapels of the convent. The red color of the work is reflective in the dark.

Yalili Mora ( Cuba, 1972) is a visual artist based in Barcelona. She has earned a BA from the National School of Fine Arts in Havana, Cuba. She is a former member of the extinct Cuban collectives Grupo Punto and Coordenada Arte-Sur. Among her solo shows are included Portraits without Apparent Faces at the Cultural Centre Sant Agustí, Barcelona, Spain (2021) and Installations at the Ludwig Foundation (1999); as for her participation in group shows, Yalili Mora’s work has been included in Art Nostre 19, Alicante Biennial of Visual Arts, Spain (2021); Inventario: Grupo Punto 20 años at the Ludwig Foundation in Havana, Cuba (2015) and While Cuba Waits: Art from the Nineties at Track 16 Gallery, Los Angeles, USA (1999).
