I begin with thin washes of acrylic paints and inks, drawing into them with pastels and charcoal, creating new shapes and colors. I gradually increase the thickness and opacity of the paint, dripping over, carving into, until shapes begin to emerge. While painting this series, shapes reminiscent of flowers emerged, even if I tried not to. I call this series WildFlowers, and the pieces within it represent a journey of self discovery. This is an original, one-of-a-kind painting on 1.5" thick gallery wrapped canvas painted in acrylic, charcoal, and pastel. It is varnished with a satin varnish to protect from dirt and light. The painting continues around the edges of the canvas, and it is wired and ready to hang. Signed and titled by the artist on back.

As an artist, I am constantly exploring the relationship between color, memory, and emotion. For me, color is not just a visual element, but a tool to convey mood and atmosphere in my work. It allows me to communicate and express the emotions that I am feeling, or that I want my viewers to feel. Memories play a significant role in my creative process, as I draw inspiration from my own experiences and the world around me. I believe that memories are not static, but are constantly evolving, and this is reflected in my use of color. I use color to capture the fleeting and ephemeral nature of memories, and to convey the passage of time. Through the use of vivid, saturated hues, I seek to evoke a sense of nostalgia and longing, and to transport my viewers to a different time and place.
