In this artwork, a woman is lovingly portrayed holding and gently stroking a cat on her lap. The depiction of the cat is characterized by an artificial charm and a childlike aesthetic. A unique aspect of the piece is that the cat's eyes are either not detailed or completely absent. As eyes are often considered windows to the soul, revealing emotions and expressions, the cat's perception and ability to express itself are limited by the absence of eyes, leading to various interpretations of the artwork. This portrayal can be interpreted in different ways. It could suggest that the cat is seen as a silent being, with its inner world and feelings remaining hidden from the viewer. It could also refer to the idea that we sometimes have the ability to overlook or ignore certain aspects of reality, particularly when it comes to the emotions and needs of animals. The artwork encourages the viewer to contemplate the perception of animals, the limits of communication, and our own capacity for empathy. It invites us to question conventions and develop new perspectives on the world around us. In the background of the painting, a floral landscape is visible, accompanied by the depiction of an insect. The floral background lends the artwork a sense of liveliness and beauty. The insect in the image could have metaphorical significance, alluding to transience. Insects often have a short lifespan and can be interpreted as a reminder of the fleeting nature of moments and the importance of appreciating the present. Overall, this artwork invites the viewer to reflect on the meaning of relationships, affection, and the beauty of nature. It reminds us of the value and enrichment that the bond between humans and animals can bring and emphasizes the significance of cherishing and enjoying the present moment. The artwork bears a signature and date on the back. It was created on acid-free paper with a thickness of 190g/m2. The painting will be shipped unframed, rolled in a tube.

In my artistic works, I merge minimalism with abstraction by focusing on the essential elements of nature. I explore the transformation of landscapes, play with forms, lines, and colors, reflecting both the subtle beauty of nature and the intervention, division, and transformation of landscapes. Through the reduction to the essential, I invite the observer to contemplate the harmony or disharmony between humans and nature. I began my artistic journey at the renowned Bauhaus-University in Weimar, delving into interdisciplinary projects of visual arts and participating in various exhibitions. Subsequently, during my two-year studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg, I took part in two group exhibitions curated for the Hamburg Senate and DGB. I completed my studies in Weimar in 2001. Since 2015, I have been dedicated to art professionally. I started in Berlin, being part of an artist community, and currently, I work in my own small studio in Barcelona.
