About The Artwork
This small painting represents the alchemy that happens in the art studio. A birch box laying around the studio and a bottle of Payne’s gray liquid acrylic. And of course, the sum total of all my life experiences presents in this piece. My love of water is captured. We start life surrounded by water in the womb, I believe our bodies are 77% water, thus we are a body of water. This water coursing through our physical being is connected to the rivers, streams, lakes, and oceans. When they are polluted and harmed by our careless acts, we suffer with them. When we work to protect and save the waterways, we are healing ourselves. I have felt deeply connected to the ocean, its beauty, its dynamism, and its many mysteries.
