Some families are lucky to have 'that' holiday destination, you know the one. You went as kids, got sunburnt, hung out there as an eagerly independent teenager (got drunk) and then somehow end up there again as an adult. Your life changes, has some pretty appalling lows but this place always remains the same. It's called Squeaky Beach as when you walk the sand squeaks for some strange reason I can't recall and is a protected national park. There are no life guards and as an adult with my own kids I now realise it is quite a dangerous place to swim (thanks parents). When you swim it's so cold your fingers and toes become numb but it's exhilarating. I return at least once per year
