About The Artwork
Depiction of the Badlands, Alberta Canada, once the kingdom of dinosaurs. I particularly like to work with these deserted and desolated lands and discover their vibrancy. This painting is also strongly influenced by a particular work of a great Canadian painter, John Hartman, whom I admire. I thought: "What would happened if one could travel a hundred kilometers away from one of his cityscapes?". We would - maybe - end up in the Badlands, at the end of the day, with this surreal sky and landscape. Given the size of this painting, it ships in a tube and needs to be fixed to a stretcher frame.
