The picture is part of the series "People and places". This series is based on journeys I did, it reflects my associations with certain places. "Rome in May" is based on a view of the river Tiber in Rome. I like to include quotations of the old masters in my works. In this case the picture of the woman is based on a portrait painted by the Italian rennaisance painter Pallaiuolo.
