About The Artwork
River&Sea is one of the biggest paintings I´ve done. This work celebrates the river, the sea, the meeting of the two, through colors, shaps and movement. This painting is a representation of life in all its vigor and splendor. For this painting I used acrylic (Windsor & Newton) on canvas. Like Picasso for the "Guernica" I used all the space availble in the studio. It was an epic task. I was born by the river Leça in Àgua Longa, raised by the river Douro in Oporto, nurtured by the river Thames in London. Water is my "precious aesthetic liquid". This painting include an environmental concern, it fulfil a double destiny, being the bearer of a universal message and expressing a personal language.
