About The Artwork
I wanted to create a visually strong archetype of an independent woman, in a storm cloud setting. She has the energy and the will to defy even the forces of nature. The crown is an important symbol in this painting. She does not wait for the coronation ceremony - she puts it on herself, as she decides her own status. In the colour range of the painting, the warm, soft colour of the body and the intensity of the storm clouds were important. I made the gold in the crown more relief in order to achieve a voluminous effect.
