About The Artwork

Penguin Books are iconic and I have wanted to paint them for years. What I do is look for love quotes that resonate with me on the day and use that as the typography I am putting on the artworks. This quote is from The Notebook. The fabric that this piece is painted on was a massive panel of upholstery fabric that was donated to me a few years back. I started a textile recycling business in the hope to reduce a little bit of textile waste in my town. Truthfully I was overwhelmed with the donations and ended up with warehouses full of fabric. So even what it is painted on has a story and that is helping the planet by reducing waste and possibly being part of someone's life for many years to come. Photos are taken before it is varnished and this is sent as a rolled canvas in a tube as it is so large. The collector will need to get it stretched or framed once arrived. The Penguin Publishing Group is one of the leading trade book publishers in the United States, comprised of imprints with a long and rich history dating back to the nineteenth century. Penguin Books was originally founded in the UK in 1935 by Allen Lane, who envisioned a collection of quality, attractive books affordable enough to be “bought as easily and casually as a packet of cigarettes.” A United States office opened in 1939, called Penguin Books Ltd. The group merged with Putnam Berkley to become Penguin Putnam, Inc. in 1996, Penguin Group (USA) in 2003, and Penguin Publishing Group in 2014. Today, Penguin Publishing Group is the largest division of Penguin Random House, Inc. This piece is sent rolled in a tube.

As a passionate visual artist, I wield oils, acrylics, spray paint, and enamels to breathe life into my canvas. Each stroke is imbued with the essence of my life's journey, manifesting in subjects that resonate deeply with my soul. My creative process is not merely about painting; it's a cathartic exploration, a psychoanalysis of the subjects that compel me. Every piece is a chapter, a narrative woven with threads of personal significance, inviting viewers to delve into the layers of my experiences. Through my art, I strive to bridge the gap between the tangible and the intangible, revealing the interconnectedness of all things and the profound stories that shape our existence.
