About The Artwork
Made contemporaneously with No.45 and No.48, No.47 may well be my masterwork to date. This painting exhibits both restraint and dynamic energy derived from the interplay of diffused background and hard edged foreground. New and creative techniques (for me) were discovered. Early on the canvas was almost discarded. Stretched on poplar supports, stainless steel 5/16" staples. 5/16'x2" edge cut maple wood frame with 1/8" gap surrounding the painting.
