A self portrait with the Monk Parakeet, of Brooklyn NY. This bird migrated from South America and is hugely inspiring for its bright plumage, as well as the diverse company it keeps. The monk parakeet was a canary in the coal mine for me as it appeared, and vanished for months in my life to only reappear in brighter times.
